The Ask
With the holiday season approaching, our client partners at Labatt Breweries of Canada identified an opportunity to express their appreciation and spread joy among their employees. At a time when many associates were working remotely, they wanted to launch a campaign that would encourage engagement and connection with their colleagues and reinforce their culture.
Inspired by our own Staples holiday mixer gifting campaign, which was designed to highlight how a thoughtful gift can create lasting connections no matter where your recipients reside, the client approached us with a request to build their own holiday gift box for their Stella Artois team. The Stella team was looking for something customized and that would boost morale heading into the holiday season.
The Strategy
With the increased lead times of the holiday season, our team determined that in-stock items from our top tier suppliers would allow us to provide the best quality gift items within the streamlined schedule required for the project. An important part of the sourcing process was to ensure that the suggested gift ideas were purposeful and would provide recipients with a meaningful experience that lasted beyond the holiday season. By gifting Stella Artois branded items that could be used throughout the year, we could create an ongoing sense of belonging for recipients and provide a tangible reminder of the brand and culture they were proud of.
Our team collaborated closely with key vendors to develop concepts for both product and packaging, and once the potential direction had been fully ideated, they delivered the proposal to the client. The team from Stella Artois loved all the suggested kit options and approved a coffee tumbler, a candle, and a notebook with a pen for the final assortment. The artwork was kept clean and simple, allowing the iconic Stella Artois logo to be celebrated. A custom postcard to introduce the kit was included, with one side left blank to allow managers to write personal messages that individually acknowledged and appreciated their employees’ hard work.
The Results
Once the kits were packed by our kitting partners, one hundred holiday gift boxes were delivered and distributed to the Stella Artois team. The kits were received with great enthusiasm and brought joy to the recipients. The client was very happy with the outcome and with this successful employee appreciation campaign, our team has been working to execute additional gifting ideas that will help our clients continue to build culture and engagement.
